Dependable Protection That Doesn't Break the Budget

TAMKO Heritage shingles have been one of the most trusted architectural shingles in the industry for decades. Built on a fiberglass mat construction with TAMKO's TriShield™ technology, Heritage shingles deliver a layered, dimensional appearance that's a significant upgrade from three-tab shingles — without the premium price tag.

Heritage is a smart choice for homeowners who want solid, dependable roofing performance at a price that makes sense. With a Class A fire rating, wind resistance up to 130 MPH, and a Limited Lifetime Warranty, Heritage shingles offer the protection your home needs backed by one of America's most established roofing manufacturers. As a TAMKO Diamond Elite contractor, Sands Roofing installs Heritage shingles to the highest standards, unlocking the full warranty coverage that comes with certified installation.

Heritage Shingle Features

TriShield™ Technology

Heritage shingles are built with TAMKO’s proprietary TriShield technology — a fiberglass mat reinforcement system that enhances durability, weather resistance, and dimensional stability. This three-layer approach gives Heritage shingles their structural integrity and long-term performance.

Class A Fire Rating

Heritage shingles carry the highest fire resistance rating available (UL 790 / ASTM E108). This classification means the shingles are effective against severe fire exposure, providing an important layer of protection for your home.

Wind Resistance

Engineered to withstand wind speeds up to 130 MPH when properly installed with TAMKO’s recommended nailing pattern and sealant activation. Heritage shingles use an asphalt-based sealant strip that bonds the shingle layers together, helping to prevent wind uplift and blow-off.

Architectural Dimensional Design

Heritage’s layered construction creates a textured, dimensional appearance that adds depth and visual interest compared to flat three-tab shingles. The laminated design creates shadow lines and variation across the roof surface, mimicking the look of natural wood shake at a fraction of the cost and maintenance.

Heritage Shingles FAQ

Heritage shingles have been a staple of the residential roofing industry for decades, and for good reason. They deliver solid architectural performance — Class A fire rating, up to 130 MPH wind resistance, and a Limited Lifetime Warranty — at a price point that's accessible for most homeowners. We've installed Heritage shingles on hundreds of homes across the Columbia area and they consistently perform well in South Carolina's climate. For homeowners who want dependable protection without stepping up to the premium Titan XT line, Heritage is a strong choice.
The biggest differences are wind performance (Heritage: 130 MPH vs. Titan XT: 160 MPH), impact resistance (Heritage: standard vs. Titan XT: Class 3), and the proprietary technologies built into each shingle. Titan XT includes AnchorLock reinforcement, Advanced Fusion sealants, and UltraMAX Weathering technology that Heritage doesn't have. If maximum storm protection is your priority, Titan XT is the better investment. If you want proven, dependable performance at a lower price, Heritage delivers.
TAMKO backs Heritage shingles with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. In real-world conditions, a properly installed Heritage roof should provide 25–30 years of performance, depending on weather exposure, attic ventilation, and maintenance. Regular inspections and prompt repair of any storm damage can extend that lifespan significantly.
Color availability varies based on which TAMKO manufacturing facility serves our region. We typically have access to 12–16 Heritage colors, including the most popular options like Weathered Wood, Rustic Black, Oxford Grey, and Natural Timber. Contact us for the current color availability — we can show you samples during your free consultation.
